Dining at Santa Fe; a feast for all the senses

The restaurant of Santa Fe, under the patrician care of creative chef Jaap Schaafsma, combines the traditional French kitchen with lighter Mediterranean touches, including freshly grown herbs from the garden. Utilising years of classical training and experience in high quality restaurants, Jaap insists on using fresh ingredients, many locally sourced and the contemporary a la carte menu is constantly evolving and adjusted according to season.

This innovative menu includes several vegetarian dishes and is complemented by a well balanced and interesting wine list, including quality Spanish, French, Portuguese and Moroccan choices.

Beautifully presented food is enhanced by the magical settings; leisurely lunches are served under the protective shade of an ancient olive tree accompanied by the sound of birdsong, whilst delicious dinners are enjoyed on the poolside terraces during balmy evenings with the scent of jasmine filling the air, all with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour. An old farmhouse dining room with the comfort of a wood burning stove provides a romantic ambience for cosy winter meals. Service is attentive yet unobtrusive; the food is unpretentious but delicious.

Once a closely guarded secret of local customers, the reputation of the Santa Fe restaurant has now spread further afield and devotees travel from the coast and beyond and reservations are therefore recommended. Dining here is both a typically Andalusian, yet uniquely Santa Fe experience.
